The Uttarakhand government has implemented another significant reshuffle of key officials within the state administration. In a series of transfers announced on December 17, four IAS officers and three PCS officers have been assigned new responsibilities. This move follows a pattern of ongoing changes aimed at optimizing governance in the state.

Key IAS Transfers:

2015 batch IAS officer Himanshu Khurana has been assigned the additional role of Additional Secretary for Jalgam, as well as Additional Director/PD. Khurana, who currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of PMGSY and Secretary of the Right to Service Commission, will now oversee these additional responsibilities.

2017 batch IAS officer Namami Bansal, who was previously holding multiple roles, including Additional Secretary in Medical and Medical Education, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, and others, has been relieved from these positions. Bansal has now been appointed as the Municipal Commissioner for the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun.

2017 batch IAS officer Prashant Kumar Arya has been shifted from his post as Managing Director of GMVN to take on new responsibilities. Arya will now serve as the Additional Secretary for Child Development and Women Welfare, as well as Director of the Integrated Child Development Project (ICDS), Director of Women Welfare, and Director of Sports and Youth Welfare.

2018 batch IAS officer Vishal Mishra has been transferred from his position as the Municipal Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Haldwani and has been given the responsibility of Managing Director of GMVN and Mission Director of Jal Jeevan Mission.

PCS Officers Transferred:

PCS Jaivardhan Sharma has been relieved of his duties as Deputy Collector of Almora and will now serve as the Additional District Magistrate (Administration) in Haridwar.

PCS Yogendra Singh has been moved from his role as Joint Secretary of the Shri Kedarnath Utthan Charitable Trust in Dehradun. He will now take up the post of Additional District Magistrate of Pithoragarh.

PCS Richa Singh, formerly the Deputy Collector of Nainital, has been reassigned as the Municipal Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Haldwani.

These strategic transfers are expected to streamline the functioning of key departments and enhance the governance structure within Uttarakhand.
