Union Finance Ministry Promotes IRS Venugopal Usha & 2 Other Officers to Apex Scale

The Union Finance Ministry has announced the promotion of three senior Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) [IRS (C&IT)] officers to the rank of Principal Chief Commissioner/Principal Director General (Apex Scale) for the panel year 2025.

Promoted Officers:

1. Mr. K. R. Uday Bhaskar (IRS C&IT: 1990);
2. Ms. Venugopal Usha (IRS C&IT: 1990);
3. Mr. Manoj Kumar Arora (IRS C&IT: 1990).

All three officers will assume their new roles on an in-situ basis, with their regular postings expected to be finalized shortly.

It is noteworthy that 24 officers were empanelled for the Principal Chief Commissioner/Director General rank on September 21, reflecting the Ministry’s efforts to ensure smooth career progression within the IRS cadre.
