New Delhi: In a significant move to bolster India’s steel industry on the global stage, Union Minister of Steel and Heavy Industries, H.D. Kumaraswamy, unveiled the official logo of ‘Bharat Steel’ today at a launch ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Alongside the logo, the event brochure and website were also inaugurated.
The launch event was attended by Steel Secretary Sandeep Poundrik and senior officials from the Ministry of Steel. It was held in conjunction with a dedicated workshop for the secondary steel sector, underscoring the government’s commitment to a holistic, sustainable, and innovation-led steel ecosystem.
‘Bharat Steel’: India’s Flagship Global Steel Forum
Bharat Steel is the Ministry of Steel’s flagship international conference-cum-exhibition, set to be held on April 16–17, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Envisioned as the largest steel event ever hosted in India, it will serve as a platform to project India’s steel-making capabilities, encourage green transitions, and attract global investment.
The two-day mega event will bring together:
- Global steel leaders and CEOs
- Policymakers and government agencies
- Technology innovators and solution providers
- Buyers, sellers, and investors across value chains

Speaking at the launch, Minister Kumaraswamy emphasized the government’s vision to position India as a hub for sustainable steel manufacturing and innovation. He reiterated the Ministry’s focus on building a resilient value chain and ensuring that Indian steel remains competitive, responsible, and technologically advanced.
The concurrent workshop for the secondary steel sector also focused on modernizing practices, improving quality standards, and fostering MSME participation in the steel economy.
