Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today distributed appointment letters to 1,112 Junior Assistants and 22 X-ray Technicians selected through the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC). The event marked yet another milestone in the state government’s ongoing drive to ensure transparent and merit-based recruitment.
While congratulating the newly appointed youths, CM Yogi emphasized the role of health in nation-building, saying: “A healthy person builds a strong society and a capable nation. If the individual is not healthy, the system itself collapses.”
Attack on Past Recruitment Practices
Without naming the Samajwadi Party, Yogi alleged that earlier governments allowed a “family-run system” that looted the public by selling jobs. He said:
“Investigations are underway. Once they are complete, many such ‘Mahabharat relations’ will be forced to spend the rest of their lives in jail.”
The CM recalled that in 2017, when his government started large-scale police recruitment, training infrastructure was so poor that only 3,000 candidates could be trained at a time. “We had to take support from military and paramilitary training centers in other states to train 50,000 recruits,” he said, contrasting it with today’s improved capacity.
Government’s Welfare and Employment Push
Yogi highlighted his government’s recent cashless medical scheme for teachers, benefitting 55 lakh people, and noted that more than 80 lakh citizens in the state have already availed of Ayushman Bharat health coverage.
On infrastructure, he said Uttar Pradesh now has 80 medical colleges, making healthcare accessible at the district level. Economically, the CM projected that Uttar Pradesh is set to become a ₹35 lakh crore economy by the end of the current fiscal year.
Employment Record in 8 Years
Reaffirming his administration’s focus on youth employment, CM Yogi shared key figures:
- 8.5 lakh+ youth have received government jobs in the past 8 years.
- 2.19 lakh police personnel have been successfully recruited.
- Further recruitments are planned to continue expanding opportunities.
A Healthy Society as a Strong Foundation
The CM reiterated that health remains a crucial pillar for development:
“If individuals are unhealthy, the entire system suffers. A strong, prosperous nation begins with a healthy citizen.”
The Yogi government has consistently highlighted its efforts to clean up recruitment processes in Uttar Pradesh, contrasting its record with past administrations accused of corruption and nepotism. The latest appointments not only strengthen the workforce in administrative and healthcare sectors but also reinforce the state’s broader vision of ‘New Uttar Pradesh’—a society built on merit, transparency, and citizen welfare.
