On New Year’s Eve, the Uttar Pradesh government announced the promotion of 52 IPS officers following approval from the Departmental Promotion Committee and the Governor. The formal orders were issued after the meeting held on December 21.
Mr. Dipesh Juneja (1992 batch) has been promoted to the position of Director General (DG) after the retirement of DG CBCID Mr. SN Sabat.
Three officers from the 2000 batch were promoted to Additional Director General (ADG). These include Mr. Laxmi Singh, Noida Police Commissioner; Mr. Prashant Kumar II, IG Range Lucknow; and Mr. Nilabja Chaudhary, IG ATS.
Nine officers from the 2007 batch have been promoted from Deputy Inspector General (DIG) to Inspector General (IG). These officers include Mr. Amit Pathak, Mr. Jogendra Kumar, Mr. Ravi Shankar Chhavi, Mr. Vinod Kumar Singh, Ms. Bharti Singh, Mr. Vipin Kumar Mishra, Mr. Rakesh Pratap Singh, Mr. Yogesh Singh, and Ms. Geeta Singh.
Additionally, 25 officers from the 2011 batch have been promoted from Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) to DIG. Notable officers in this list include Mr. Shailesh Kumar Pandey, Mr. Ajay Kumar, Mr. Abhishek Singh, and others. Dr. Dharamvir Singh (2010 batch) has also been promoted to DIG.
Thirteen officers from the 2012 batch received selection grade promotions, including Mr. Vijay Dhull, Mr. Ghule Sushil Chandrabhan, and Mr. Ashish Tiwari.
Furthermore, 25 sub-inspectors were promoted to inspectors, and 204 chief constables were promoted to sub-inspectors, based on seniority. These promotions were made by the vacancies for the 2024 selection year.
On the same day, three IPS officers, including Mr. SN Sabat, and 10 PPS officers retired. DGP Mr. Prashant Kumar felicitated the retired officers with mementoes.
