Amid the ongoing protest of farmers’ in Delhi NCR over farm bills, the Uttar Pradesh government has appointed IPS officers as nodal officers to talk with farmers. The nodal officers have been appointed for all 75 districts and given instructions to resolve farmer’s disputes.
The govt has also sought a list of important farmer leaders in the state. A senior home official said that attempts must be made to address and resolve issues of farmers at the village level and take their memorandum. The senior officers should review the efforts made by tehsildar in the village.
According to the order, police team along with revenue officials must visit the villages and identify those farmers who are going to take part under three days’ time. The officers must talk to the farmers and religious leaders in the villages.
