Formal Orders Expected by Mid-October
The Finance Department is currently in the process of obtaining final approval from the state government. Once cleared, official orders are expected to be issued by the second week of October, allowing departments enough time to process payments before Diwali.
₹1,000 Crore Budget Sanctioned
To implement this bonus scheme, the state government has sanctioned a budget of ₹1,000 crore, which will be used to cover the payout across various departments. The allocation is part of a broader fiscal support plan for government employees during the festive season.
Possible Hike in Dearness and Relief Allowances
Sources also suggest that the central government may soon announce a hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Relief Allowance, with a possible increase of up to 3% being considered. If approved, this will further boost the incomes of government employees across the country.
This Diwali bonus announcement comes as a welcome step for lakhs of government workers in Uttar Pradesh, offering financial respite during the festive season and reinforcing the government’s commitment to employee welfare.
