Lucknow: The kharif marketing year 2025–26 will witness the commencement of paddy procurement in eastern Uttar Pradesh starting November 1, 2025, continuing until February 28, 2026. Procurement will be conducted in eastern divisions, including Chitrakoot, Kanpur, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Devipatan, Basti, Azamgarh, Varanasi, Mirzapur, and Prayagraj.
Additionally, in the Lucknow division, procurement will begin on November 1 in Lucknow, Raebareli, and Unnao districts. In western Uttar Pradesh, procurement has already been underway since October 1, including districts like Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri, and Sitapur.
Minimum Support Price (MSP) for Paddy Increased
The Yogi government has raised the MSP for paddy this year:
- Paddy (Common): Rs 2,369 per quintal
- Paddy (Grade A): Rs 2,389 per quintal
This increase is aimed at providing better support to farmers and encouraging timely sale of their produce.
Farmer Participation and Registration
Over 2.17 lakh farmers have registered to sell paddy within two months as of October 31, 2025. In western Uttar Pradesh alone, more than 17,000 farmers have already sold over 1.06 lakh metric tonnes of paddy.

Purchase Centers and Payment Assurance
To facilitate smooth procurement, 3,920 purchase centres have been opened across the state. Following government directives, farmers are guaranteed payment within 48 hours of sale.
