Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) on Monday declared the results of the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services (PCS) Preliminary Examination-2025 and the ACF/RFO Preliminary Examination-2025. A total of 11,727 candidates have qualified for the mains.
6.26 Lakh Apply for 920 Posts; Vacancies Increase 4.5 Times
Under the advertisement released on February 20, 6,26,387 candidates applied online, while 2,65,270 appeared in the examination held on October 12 across all 75 districts.
This year, the number of vacancies witnessed a significant jump –
- Total posts: 920
- PCS posts: 814
- ACF/RFO posts: 106
The vacancies have increased four and a half times compared to the previous 200 posts.
11,727 Candidates Qualify for Mains
UPPSC Secretary Ashok Kumar confirmed that 11,727 candidates have been declared successful in the preliminary exam.

Two-Shift Examination Conducted With AI-Based Monitoring
Following last year’s paper leak protests, the Commission conducted the exam with enhanced security measures.
Key security measures included –
- AI movement detection
- AI analytics–based monitoring
- Central control room monitoring every candidate’s activity
- Alerts triggered even for minor neck movements
The exam was held in two shifts –
- Morning: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
- Afternoon: 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM

Prayagraj hosted the maximum number of exam centres.

- Prayagraj: 67 centres, 28,368 candidates
- Kanpur: 39 centres, 17,500 candidates
- Noida: 27 centres, 8,376 candidates
- Jhansi: 27 centres, 11,500 candidates
- Gorakhpur: 41 centres, 19,000 candidates
- Azamgarh: 27 centres, 12,000 candidates
- Varanasi: 49 centres, 22,752 candidates
- Aligarh: 28 centres, 13,152 candidates
- Agra: 29 centres, 14,472 candidates
- Meerut: 42 centres, 19,680 candidates
Strict Invigilation: One Inspector for Every 12 Candidates
To ensure fair conduct, the Commission deployed –
- 1 room inspector per 12 candidates
- Centre in-charges at every centre
- Sector magistrate & static magistrate at each location
The AI-enabled control room continuously monitored live feeds and received instant alerts of suspicious movements.
Control Room Set Up After Previous Year’s Exam Breach
Last year’s exam breach led to massive protests in front of the UPPSC office, forcing the Commission to reschedule the exam.
Learning from that experience, UPPSC strengthened its surveillance architecture for the 2025 exam.
