New Delhi / Greater Noida: The third edition of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS 2025) is set to begin this Thursday at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, with over 2,500 exhibitors, 500 foreign buyers, and more than 500,000 visitors expected to attend.
The high-profile event will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will run until September 29, showcasing Uttar Pradesh’s growing prowess in manufacturing, entrepreneurship, and inclusive development.
Showcasing UP’s Economic Transformation
UP’s Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ emphasized that the trade show has become a symbol of the state’s transformation and a vital platform for entrepreneurs across districts.
“This event demonstrates UP’s capacity – from village artisans to ODOP (One District One Product) participants – and shows the world how far we’ve come. In earlier times, UP was ridiculed as a ‘BIMARU’ state. Today, we are hosting global trade shows and investor summits,” said Nandi.
He noted that in previous editions, some exhibitors secured business orders extending up to three years, proving the event’s impact on the state’s push toward becoming a $1 trillion economy.
MSMEs, ODOP, and Inclusive Participation
Cabinet Minister for MSME Rakesh Sachan highlighted the participation of over 2,200 stalls dedicated to MSMEs, making UP the first state to provide such a large-scale platform for small entrepreneurs.
“We have 96 lakh MSMEs in the state, and this trade show allows them global exposure. Last year, we had visitors from 70+ countries, and this year, we expect delegates from 80+ countries, with Russia as a partner country,” said Sachan.
Departments such as Health, Agriculture, and, for the first time, the Social Welfare Department are also participating to showcase state-level governance and inclusive initiatives.
Focus on Social Inclusion
Minister of State for Social Welfare (Independent Charge), Asim Arun, announced that 20 students – 10 boys and 10 girls-from Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalaya will attend the event.
Additionally, SC/ST entrepreneurs supported by the department have been invited to exhibit, reinforcing the state’s focus on inclusive growth and representation.
“Our stall will reflect the vision of a developed and inclusive India, aligning with national goals,” said Arun.
Traffic & Security Measures in Place
The Gautam Buddh Nagar Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory for the event, restricting goods vehicle movement (heavy, medium, and light) on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and surrounding roads from September 24 to 29, between 7 AM and 11 PM. Only emergency and essential supply vehicles will be allowed.
In addition, a 24-hour ban on drones, balloons, microlight aircraft, and paragliders has been imposed for security reasons, effective midnight Wednesday to midnight Thursday.
Summary
The UPITS 2025 aims to be a game-changer for Uttar Pradesh’s MSMEs, ODOP artisans, and global trade outreach. With support from senior government officials, extensive planning, and participation from 80+ countries, the trade show signals UP’s economic ambition and rising prominence on the international trade map.
