Lucknow/Meerut: With the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) gearing up for the PCS 2025 Preliminary Examination on October 12, arrangements are being finalized across all 75 districts of the state, including the setup of 1,435 exam centers for over 6.26 lakh candidates.
In Meerut alone, 42 centers have been established, and for the first time, room inspectors will receive formal training prior to the exam day. This new step is part of the Commission’s focus on ensuring smoother, error-free conduct of this major competitive examination.
Admit Card Glitch: Help Counter Operational Till October 8
Many candidates have reported an inability to download their admit cards despite completing the online application and fee payment processes.
To address this, UPPSC has set up a dedicated inquiry counter at Gate No. 3 of the Commission’s office in Prayagraj, operational from October 6 to 8, between 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Affected candidates must bring a printout of their application form, available from Step 4 of the application process on the UPPSC website.
According to Omkar Nath Singh, Under Secretary of the Commission, representations have been received from a large number of aspirants, prompting this special helpdesk. Around 2,000 candidates are reportedly affected.
Exam Schedule and Format
The Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services (PCS) Preliminary Exam 2025, along with the ACF/RFO Preliminary Exam, will be conducted in two shifts:
- First Shift: 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM
- Second Shift: 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM
District Meerut: Meeting and Training Plan for Smooth Conduct
In preparation, District Magistrate Dr. VK Singh has called a coordination meeting of exam officials on October 8 at 3:00 PM, to be held at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Auditorium.
For the first time ever, a dedicated training session for room inspectors will be held on October 9 at 9:00 AM, also at the auditorium. This training aims to enhance transparency and ensure room inspectors are fully briefed on their roles and responsibilities.
Strict Security and Monitoring Arrangements
To maintain fairness and security during the examination –
- Sector Magistrates and Static Magistrates will be deployed at each center.
- 50% of room inspectors will be sourced from schools other than where the exam is being held.
- The remaining 50% will be inter-school inspectors, ensuring impartiality.
Pallav Choudhary Selected for IMA Attachment Camp in Dehradun
In other positive news from Meerut, Pallav Choudhary, a final-year B.Tech (IT) student at Sir Chhotu Ram College of Engineering and Technology, CCSU campus, has been selected for the prestigious IMA Attachment Camp in Dehradun, scheduled from December 22, 2025, to January 2, 2026.
Pallav, an Under-Officer with the 71st UP Battalion NCC, holds a B Certificate and is currently pursuing his C Certificate. His selection is remarkable as only 120 cadets from the 1.7 million NCC cadets across India are chosen for this elite training program.
During the 12-day camp at the Indian Military Academy, cadets will engage in –
- Parade ground drills
- Weapons training
- Leadership exercises
- Physical fitness routines
Lectures and hands-on exposure to army life
This immersive experience will help build discipline, leadership, and national service motivation, offering a first-hand view of life in the armed forces.
