Ghaziabad — Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath laid the foundation stone for a ₹1,000‑crore green data centre at Central Electronics Ltd (CEL) in Sahibabad. Framing the launch as a symbol of UP’s transformation into a defence and digital powerhouse, he declared:
“During Operation Sindoor, we successfully tested Akash and BrahMos missiles against Pakistan. Both these missiles are now ‘Pakistan‑tested’ and trusted worldwide.”
Six Defence Corridor Nodes Power UP’s Strategic Growth
The CM noted that UP is now home to six dedicated defence industrial corridor nodes, with the Lucknow node having already begun BrahMos missile production. CEL, he said, plays a key role in supplying vital components:
“Many of its components are being procured from institutions like CEL.”
CEL is currently producing subsystems such as radomes, radar systems, and speed control units—essential for India’s frontline missile systems.
State’s Economic Rebound and Investment Surge
Adityanath emphasized the scale of UP’s economic turnaround since 2017:
- Economy and per capita income have both grown 2.5 times
- 6 crore people have risen above the poverty line
- Investment proposals worth ₹50 lakh crore, of which ₹15 lakh crore worth of projects are already underway
“Till 2017–18, UP was considered a BIMARU state… but within just eight years… we managed to grow our economy by 2.5 times.”
20,000 MW Green Power Goal with CEL at the Helm
Setting an ambitious target, the CM announced that Uttar Pradesh aims to generate 20,000 MW of renewable energy by 2027, with CEL playing a pivotal role. He highlighted CEL’s commitment to powering the green transition through its new data centre and solar technology capabilities.
