UPSC Announces New Rules for OTR Profile Modification for CSE and IFS Exams, Check All Details Here

According to the official notice, there have been changes to the Notice of the Indian Forest Service Examination 2025 published on January 22, 2025, specifically in Paragraph 2.1 & 5(c), concerning the modification of the OTR Profile.

New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued an important update regarding the Online Registration (OTR) Profile for candidates applying for the Civil Services Exam (CSE) and Indian Forest Service (IFS) exam. The commission announced that candidates for both the UPSC CSE 2025 and UPSC IFS 2025 can submit their applications by February 11, 2025. However, there is a window provided for candidates to make corrections or modifications to their application forms from February 12 to 18, 2025.

According to the official notice, there have been changes to the Notice of the Indian Forest Service Examination 2025 published on January 22, 2025, specifically in Paragraph 2.1 & 5(c), concerning the modification of the OTR Profile.

The commission clarified that any changes in the OTR Profile (Registration) will be allowed only once in the lifetime of a candidate, after their registration on the OTR platform. Changes can be made until seven days after the closure of the application window for a candidate’s first final application for any UPSC examination. For those applying for the first time for the UPSC CSE 2025 or UPSC IFS 2025, the last date for modifying the OTR profile is February 18, 2025.

The notice further specifies that changes can be made in certain details, including:

  • Name or Changed Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • Father’s/Mother’s/Guardian’s Name
  • Minority Status
  • Class 10th Board Examination Roll Number

However, it is important to note that candidates will not be allowed to change their email ID under any circumstances.

Candidates are urged to make necessary corrections within the allowed timeframe to ensure the accuracy of their applications before the final submission.

The notice is divided into FOR and READ.

FOR: In case, the candidate wants to effect any change in his/her OTR Profile (Registration), it shall be allowed only once in the lifetime after the registration at OTR platform. The change in OTR profile (Registration) data shall be available till expiry of 7 days from the next day after the closure of application window of his/her first final application for any Examination of the Commission. In the case, the candidate after registration applies for the first time in this examination, the last date of modification of OTR Profile (Registration) would be February 18, 2025.

READ: In case, the candidate wants to effect any change in his/her OTR Profile (Registration) with regard to his/her (i) Name / Changed Name (ii) Date of Birth, (iii) Gender, (iv) Father’s/Mother’s/Guardian’s Name, (v) Minority Status, and (vi) Class 10th Board Examination Roll No., it shall be allowed only once in the lifetime after the registration at OTR platform. These changes in OTR Profile (Registration) data can be made till expiry of 7 days from the next day after the closure of application window of his/her first final application for any Examination of the Commission. In the case, the candidate after registration applies for the first time in this examination, the last date of modification of OTR Profile (Registration) would be February 18, 2025.
