New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the final results of the Civil Services Examination 2025, recommending 958 candidates for appointment to prestigious services such as the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and other Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ central services.
Among the successful candidates, 53 Muslim aspirants secured positions in the final merit list, accounting for approximately 5.53 percent of the total selections. Notably, 13 Muslim women also featured among the successful candidates, highlighting increasing participation and achievements from the community in India’s most competitive examination.
Top Performing Muslim Candidates
Several Muslim candidates achieved impressive ranks in the national merit list. Among them, A. R. Raja Mohideen secured All India Rank 7, becoming the highest-ranked Muslim candidate this year.

Another notable performer is Ifra Shams Ansari, who achieved AIR 24 and emerged among the top rank holders in the country.
Their success reflects the growing presence of Muslim aspirants in the civil services examination.
Improved Representation Compared to Previous Year
Data from the UPSC results indicates that the representation of Muslim candidates has improved compared to the previous year.
In the 2024 Civil Services Examination, Muslim candidates accounted for roughly 3 percent of the total 1,009 recommended candidates. In contrast, the 2025 results show a higher proportion, with 53 candidates making the final list.
The increase reflects the continued efforts of aspirants from diverse backgrounds to compete in the highly competitive examination.
Women Candidates Add to the Achievement
A notable highlight of this year’s results is the presence of 13 Muslim women among the successful candidates.
Their success underscores the growing participation of women in the civil services and reflects the broader trend of increasing representation of women across communities in India’s administrative services.
