Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Yogi Adityanath reiterated that aspirational districts and development blocks are among the top priorities for the state government. During a comprehensive review meeting held on June 29, he emphasised four key pillars driving regional growth — public participation, innovation, transparency, and timely implementation.
Vacant Posts Must Be Filled Urgently
CM Adityanath directed officials to expedite recruitment processes, especially in underdeveloped regions, and made it clear that delays in filling vacant government positions would not be tolerated. He highlighted that human resource gaps were a critical obstacle to achieving development goals.
Review of Ground-Level Progress
The review, based on field visit reports, assessed the progress in 108 aspirational blocks. Inspections covered 272 schools, 301 Anganwadi centres, 232 health units, 229 panchayat offices, and 275 other public institutions. Of the 108 blocks, 106 were found to be progressing in line with the state’s block development strategy.
Empowering Rural Economy and Women
The meeting also noted that 497 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) are currently active across the state, playing a significant role in boosting agricultural productivity and income. In addition, over 6,500 BC (Business Correspondent) Sakhis are working to enhance financial inclusion among rural communities, especially women.
Visits to All Aspirational Districts
Senior officials have completed on-ground visits to all eight aspirational districts — Bahraich, Balrampur, Chandauli, Chitrakoot, Fatehpur, Siddharthnagar, Sonbhadra, and Shravasti — to monitor progress, identify challenges, and interact with local stakeholders.
Showcasing Successful Local Models
The review highlighted noteworthy local innovations. These included organic lemon farming in Bansdih, Ballia, which has helped increase farmer income, and an AI-powered cancer screening centre established at a primary health facility in Fatehpur — a first-of-its-kind initiative in the area.
Replication and Continuous Monitoring
The Chief Minister urged officials to replicate such successful models in other districts and called for the development of robust data collection systems to ensure accurate and ongoing monitoring of all development initiatives.
