The ambitious Samarth Uttar Pradesh – Vikasit Uttar Pradesh @ 2047 campaign has witnessed overwhelming public engagement, with nearly 6 lakh suggestions received as of September 24. This visionary initiative is aimed at building a roadmap for a developed Uttar Pradesh by 2047, aligning with India’s national development goals.
Out of the total feedback, around 4.70 lakh suggestions came from rural areas, while 1.30 lakh suggestions were from urban centres, showcasing widespread involvement across demographic and geographic lines.
Inclusive Participation Across Age Groups
The campaign has successfully engaged citizens of all age brackets. The highest number of suggestions (3.20 lakh) came from individuals aged 31 to 60 years, reflecting the input of working professionals and experienced stakeholders.
Additionally, 2.40 lakh suggestions were contributed by youth under 31 years, while approximately 40,000 came from senior citizens above 60, reinforcing the inclusivity of the campaign.
District-Wise Feedback: Maharajganj Leads the Way
Among all 75 districts, Maharajganj district emerged as the top contributor with approximately 62,000 feedback entries, followed by Kanpur Dehat with 30,000 and Sambhal with over 22,000 inputs.
More than 4 lakh suggestions were received from other major districts including Prayagraj, Firozabad, Kanpur Nagar, Gorakhpur, Saharanpur, Shamli, Etah, Meerut, Farrukhabad, and Mainpuri.
Priority Areas: Education, Agriculture, Tech and Health
The largest number of suggestions focused on education, urban-rural development, healthcare, social welfare, agriculture, industry, security, and the rapidly growing field of information technology and digital innovation.
Specifically, over 14,700 suggestions were received on IT & Tech, and 15,182 on industry, highlighting the public’s aspiration for a technologically advanced and industrially empowered Uttar Pradesh.
Ground-Level Outreach by Nodal Officers and Experts
As part of the campaign strategy, nodal officers, policy experts, and social intellectuals are visiting all districts to engage directly with citizens. They are conducting awareness programs and discussions with students, teachers, entrepreneurs, farmers, labor groups, voluntary organizations, and the media to gather well-informed suggestions and communicate the state’s developmental progress over the last eight years.
This ground-level engagement is creating a two-way dialogue, ensuring public participation is not symbolic but substantive.
Innovative Public Suggestions: From Digital Infrastructure to Empowering Women
A wide range of forward-looking and actionable suggestions have been submitted by citizens across the state:
- Mr. Ashutosh Patel from Ballia proposed focusing on a technology-driven roadmap with digital infrastructure including 5G/6G connectivity, AI in agriculture, AR/VR in education, Industry 4.0 automation, smart cities powered by IoT, and green-tech adoption through solar and electric mobility. He also emphasized innovation hubs and incubators to support startups.
- Ms. Savita from Mau suggested expanding the role of BC Sakhis in Gram Panchayats by linking them with the dairy industry, providing milk processing equipment, and tasks like Aadhaar enrollment and electric meter recharge, empowering rural women economically.
- Mr. Hiralal Bhagore from Lucknow proposed the development of “model fishery villages” along with the establishment of dedicated water testing laboratories, shrimp processing plants, and training in global best practices to boost exports and value addition in the fisheries sector.

The Samarth Uttar Pradesh campaign is an example of participatory governance, where public insight is helping shape policy frameworks and future infrastructure plans.
