Uttarakhand is gearing up for significant administrative changes in the new year. Several IAS officers are expected to have their departmental allocations revised, following recent promotions and ongoing central deputation considerations. This move is aimed at optimising administrative efficiency across key government departments.
Newly Promoted Secretaries Await Key Assignments
Seven IAS officers have recently been elevated to the rank of Secretary, and their departmental responsibilities are set to be announced soon. Shailesh Bagauli, Secretary to the Chief Minister, currently manages crucial portfolios including Home, Drinking Water, and Personnel. He has received his empanelment letter from the Centre, and if he opts for central deputation, these departments will open up for reassignment.
In addition, eight Additional Secretaries have been promoted, with Eva Ashish Srivastava receiving a proforma promotion while on deputation. The other officers—Dr. Ahmad Iqbal, Sonika, Ranjana Rajguru, Anand Swaroop, Dev Krishna Tiwari, Umesh Narayan Pandey, and Rajendra Kumar—assumed the rank of Secretary effective January 1. All these new Secretaries are now awaiting their departmental postings, signaling an imminent reshuffle in the state administration.
