Nainital: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, on Saturday (June 8, 2025), inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 27 development projects worth ₹126.69 crore in Nainital district, during a public event held at Lalkuan. The projects span key sectors including education, health, road infrastructure, urban development, irrigation, sewerage, and cattle protection.
Among the total projects, 9 schemes worth ₹25.93 crore were inaugurated, while foundation stones for 18 projects valued at ₹100.76 crore were laid.
Strengthening Infrastructure, Upholding Culture
Speaking at the event, CM Dhami said the projects would strengthen basic infrastructure and improve quality of life in the region. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, crediting national development in areas like defence, science, sports, and infrastructure to the PM’s vision.
Highlighting national milestones like Operation Sindoor, the abrogation of Article 370, and the construction of a rail bridge in Kashmir, Dhami said these reflected India’s rising global strength and political resolve.
He also outlined ongoing initiatives to transform Nainital into an “ideal district”, with fast-track implementation of projects such as:
- Mental hospital
- Cancer institute
- Ayush hospital
- Open gyms
- Ambedkar Park
- Ring road and bypass
- Astro park and pollinator park
- Sports university
Urban Transformation and Regional Growth
As part of the vision to make Haldwani a Clean and Green City, CM Dhami mentioned the rollout of waste management and sewerage projects, and the construction of multi-storey parking lots to ease traffic congestion.
He also cited major infrastructure initiatives such as the Jamrani Multipurpose Dam Project and the proposed Industrial Smart City in Khurpia, which aim to boost long-term economic growth in the Terai region.
Firm Stand on Cultural, Legal, and Ethical Governance
Reaffirming his government’s commitment to cultural integrity and law enforcement, Dhami said the state has taken tough measures against religious conversions, love jihad, and land jihad. He proudly noted that Uttarakhand is the first state to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and has introduced India’s strictest anti-copying law.
The CM also emphasized the government’s focus on cow protection under the Gau Sanrakshan Kanoon, and reiterated a zero-tolerance policy on corruption, claiming over 200 corrupt officials had been jailed in the last three years.

- Veterinary Hospital Enhancements, Haldwani & Kaladungi
- Gaushala (Phase-1), Gangapur Kabdwal
- State Polytechnic, Ramnagar
- Rehabilitation Center Renovation, Pande Nawad, Haldwani

Foundation stones were laid for several key initiatives, including–
- Flood protection at Indira Gandhi Sports Complex
- Canal reconstruction in multiple villages
- Polytechnic building, Kotabagh
- Tubewell construction, Rampur Chakalua & other sites
- Development of Kainchi Dham Complex
- Tourist facilities in Bhawali and Nainital
- Rural road improvements
- Jhirapani Waterfall development
- Rajpura and Parvati Mohalla sewerage schemes, Haldwani
- Gaushala (Phase-2), Lalkuan
- Library renovation, Government Girls Inter College, Haldwani
