Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasized the BJP government’s focus on strengthening infrastructure across the state, covering both urban centers and remote mountain villages.
Addressing the gathering on the 47th death anniversary of freedom fighter Pandit Ram Sumer Shukla, Mr. Dhami highlighted key development initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for residents.
Honouring Freedom Fighters with ‘Senani Bhawan’
The Chief Minister announced that the state government will construct ‘Senani Bhawan’ in villages associated with freedom fighters. Proposals for these buildings will be initiated by block heads, ensuring recognition of local heroes and promotion of community pride.
This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to preserving historical legacy while integrating it with development planning.
Healthcare and Road Connectivity Initiatives
Mr. Dhami revealed that a medical college in Pandit Ram Sumer Shukla’s name will be built in Rudrapur, aimed at providing quality healthcare services to the region.
The Rudrapur bypass is also under construction at a cost of approximately Rs. 590 crore. In addition, four-lane roads connecting Rudrapur to Khatima-Tanakpur and Gadarpur-Jaspur are being developed to enhance regional connectivity and economic activity.
Comprehensive Sectoral Development
“Today, under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttarakhand is setting new records of development and prosperity,” Mr. Dhami stated.
The government is actively strengthening infrastructure in vital sectors including education, healthcare, roads, and drinking water supply, ensuring inclusive growth reaches even the most remote villages.
Jamrani Dam Multipurpose Project and Agricultural Support
Mr. Dhami highlighted the restart of the Jamrani Dam Multipurpose Project, aimed at addressing drinking water and irrigation challenges across the Terai region.
He also announced an increase in the support price of sugarcane by Rs. 30 per quintal, benefiting local farmers and boosting agricultural income.
Tributes and Recognition of Excellence
Earlier, the Chief Minister paid tribute to Pandit Ram Sumer Shukla by garlanding his statue and unveiling a plaque detailing his life and achievements.
In addition, Mr. Dhami honoured 11 individuals for outstanding work in various fields by presenting them with mementoes, reinforcing the government’s commitment to recognizing excellence and fostering community development.
