Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved a total outlay of ₹183.71 crore to accelerate development works across various districts of the state. The sanctioned funds will be utilised for road construction and repair, drinking water supply schemes, housing projects, financial transfers to Panchayati Raj institutions, and essential disaster relief-related works. The decision is expected to give fresh momentum to infrastructure development and public welfare initiatives in the hill state.

A significant portion of the sanctioned amount has been earmarked for improving road connectivity. Keeping in view the upcoming Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra, which is being organised after a gap of 12 years, the government has separately approved ₹12.90 crore for the repair and improvement of the Nandprayag–Ghat–Sutol–Kanol motor road (from 20 km to 40 km) in the Tharali Assembly constituency.

In a major boost to grassroots governance, the Chief Minister has approved the transfer of ₹141.15 crore to Panchayati Raj institutions under the recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission (second instalment for the financial year 2024–25). This includes ₹21.17 crore for District Panchayats, ₹14.12 crore for Block Panchayats, and ₹105.86 crore for Gram Panchayats. The funds are expected to strengthen local development works and improve service delivery at the village level.
Relief for Disaster-Affected Families
Demonstrating the government’s commitment to supporting disaster-affected citizens, the Chief Minister has approved financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for families impacted by natural disasters in Pithoragarh district. Families of nine deceased persons will receive ₹1 lakh each, while owners of five fully damaged houses will be given ₹3 lakh each as relief.
Strengthening Development and Disaster Preparedness
With this comprehensive package of approvals, the Uttarakhand government aims to enhance infrastructure, support local self-governance institutions, ensure disaster preparedness, and provide timely relief to affected families. The initiatives reflect the state government’s continued focus on balanced development across both urban and remote hilly regions.
