Dehradun: In a significant move to strengthen law and order, the Uttarakhand government on Friday ordered the transfer of 14Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and six Provincial Police Service (PPS) officers across the state.
This reshuffle comes in the wake of a spate of violent incidents, including the murder of Jharkhand-based history-sheeter Vikram Sharma and five other murders in Dehradun in the past 15 days.
Key Transfers in Dehradun and Major Districts
- Dehradun SSP Ajai Singh, removed after a surge in criminal cases, has been transferred to the Special Task Force (STF).
- Pramendra Dobhal, previously SSP of Haridwar, has been appointed the new SSP of Dehradun.
- Navneet Singh Bhullar has been appointed as the SSP of Haridwar, taking over from Dobal.
- Ajay Ganpati, formerly police chief of Champawat, is the new SSP of Udham Singh Nagar.
- Manikant Mishra, previous SSP of Udham Singh Nagar, has been moved to SP Intelligence.
- Other significant district-level changes include:
- SSP Almora Devendra Pincha replaced by Chandrashekhar R. Ghodke (previously SP Bageshwar).
- Jitendra Kumar Mehra appointed SP of Bageshwar.
- Rekha Yadav becomes SP of Champawat.
- Akshay Prahlad Konde appointed SP of Pithoragarh, previously SP of Rudraprayag.
- Niharika Tomar now serves as SP of Rudraprayag.
