IPS officer Vatsala Gupta has taken charge as the new SSP of Kapurthala. She is a 2016-batch IPS officer who has replaced IPS Rajpal Singh Sandhu. Earlier, Ms. Gupta has served as DCP Headquarters at Amritsar and Jalandhar, as ADCP Jalandhar, and as ASP Nakodar.
Ms. Gupta received a warm welcome in Kapurthala from her team. SP Headquarters Tejveer Singh, SP Investigation Ramninder Singh, Phagwara SP Gurpreet Singh, SP PBI Surinder Kumar, SHOs of all police stations and others were present on the occasion.
After taking charge, she said that the battle against drugs would be her priority. She promised that the efforts against the menace would be further intensified in days to come. While addressing the team, she directed the police officers to address public issues on priority to further boost policing among the general public. She also pointed out that law and order would be maintained at all cost and none of the anti-social elements would be spared.
