New Delhi: The Government of India has approved the appointment of Mr. Vinod Kumar Sharma as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Rail India Technical and Economic Services (RITES) for the Delhi–NCR region. The appointment has been cleared by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) and will be under the administrative control of the Ministry of Railways.
Appointment Approved by ACC
Mr. Vinod Kumar Sharma is an Indian Telecom Service (ITS) officer of the 1999 batch. His appointment has been formalized through an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). He will serve as the Chief Vigilance Officer of RITES for an initial tenure of three years from the date he assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.

Pay Scale and Tenure Details
As per the government order, Mr. Sharma will hold the post in Pay Level 14, with a salary scale ranging from ₹1,44,200 to ₹2,18,200. The Department of Telecommunications has been requested to relieve him immediately to enable him to take charge of his new assignment at RITES without delay.
Strengthening Vigilance and Governance
The appointment is expected to play a key role in strengthening the vigilance, transparency, and governance framework of RITES. As Chief Vigilance Officer, Mr. Sharma will be responsible for overseeing vigilance activities, ensuring compliance with rules and procedures, and promoting integrity within the organization.
