Kolkata: In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Government of West Bengal has reassigned senior IAS and IPS officers to new portfolios, aiming to strengthen administrative efficiency across departments.
Anoop Kumar Agrawal Gets Additional Charge of IT & Electronics
Anoop Kumar Agrawal (IAS:1993:WB), currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Technical Education, Training & Skill Development Department, with additional charge of Divisional Commissioner, Jalpaiguri Division, has been entrusted with an additional portfolio.
He will now also serve as ACS, Department of Information Technology & Electronics, replacing Mr. Rajeev Kumar (IPS:1989:WB).
Agrawal, a senior bureaucrat with vast experience in education and administrative reforms, is expected to bring technical expertise and governance acumen to the IT & Electronics Department at a time when West Bengal is focusing on expanding its digital infrastructure and e-governance initiatives.

Rajesh Kumar Appointed Principal Secretary, Mass Education and Libraries
Rajesh Kumar (IPS:1990:WB), who was serving as Principal Secretary, Correctional Administration Department, has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary, Mass Education Extension & Library Services Department.
His new role will involve overseeing the expansion of adult education, rural literacy initiatives, and the modernization of the state’s public library network—key components of West Bengal’s social development agenda.
