The government of Madhya Pradesh has recently appointed senior Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Mr. Purshotam Dhiman as the new Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) of the state.
IFS Dhiman hails from a remote village named ‘Sathawin’ in the Barsar subdivision. He had done his schooling at Government High School at Maharal near his native village and his bachelor’s degree in forestry from Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry at Solan. After completing his MSc, Dhiman cracked the IFS exam in 1992 and joined the Madhya Pradesh cadre. After serving various positions in the Forest Department for 32 years, he has now been promoted as the PCCF of the state.
