Gorakhpur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated a new railway overbridge and flyover on the 4-lane road in Gorakhpur, describing the infrastructure project as a “new gift” for the state that will help reduce traffic congestion and make journeys smoother.

Speaking at the inauguration, the Chief Minister said:

“After the construction of this flyover bridge, you will no longer have to get stuck in traffic jams. This is a new gift you have received to make your journeys smoother and simpler – I congratulate you on this.”

Infrastructure Development for Smoother Commutes

The newly inaugurated overbridge and flyover are expected to:

  • Reduce traffic congestion in busy areas of Gorakhpur
  • Ensure smoother and faster journeys for commuters
  • Improve connectivity on the 4-lane road network
  • Enhance urban transport infrastructure in line with state development plans

CM Yogi Adityanath highlighted the efforts of the “double-engine” BJP government since 2017, contrasting it with previous administrations. He claimed earlier governments failed on safety, law and order, and public welfare.

“We all must remember the journey of the double-engine government since 2017. What was Uttar Pradesh like before 2017? There was fear, there was terror, there was disturbance, there was anarchy, there was disease, there were riots. Neither the daughters nor the traders were safe,” the CM said.

Veiled Criticism of Opposition and Praise for PM Modi

The Chief Minister took a dig at opposition parties, accusing them of:

  • Playing caste politics
  • Prioritizing family interests over the youth’s future
  • Creating identity crises in the state

He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his solution-oriented governance approach, stating that under his leadership, the focus is on solving problems rather than highlighting them.

Public Grievance Redressal: Janta Darshan Program

Earlier on Tuesday, CM Yogi Adityanath conducted a public grievance redressal program at the Mahant Digvijaynath Smriti Bhawan in Gorakhpur. Key highlights:

  • Listened to grievances of about 200 citizens personally
  • Instructed officials to resolve issues promptly, transparently, and satisfactorily
  • Personally interacted with citizens, asking: “Where are you from? What is the matter?”
  • Took action on complaints regarding land encroachment, ordering strict legal measures

The Chief Minister emphasized that citizens should not worry, assuring them that all problems would be resolved efficiently.

CM’s Approach: People-Centric Governance

Through both the inauguration of key infrastructure projects and the direct interaction with citizens, Yogi Adityanath reinforced his government’s focus on:

  • Infrastructure development to ease urban mobility
  • Transparent and timely grievance redressal
  • Law and order enforcement to tackle encroachments
  • Citizen engagement to understand ground-level issues

This visit highlights the UP government’s emphasis on combining development projects with people-centric governance, improving both urban infrastructure and public service delivery.
