With UPSC CSE just over a month away, if a successful candidate can reach out a helping hand to the aspirants then nothing like it.
ICAS officer Gautam Singh, who cleared UPSC CSE – 2021 with AIR 549, and is currently training at LBSNAA, recently shared a post about his UPSC results, starting 2017, on Twitter which has gone viral.
The mantra “Hope is a weapon and survival a victory” was the guiding force in ICAS officer Gautam Singh’s long journey as he tried to become an IAS officer.
The officer, whose final score was 914, tweeted, “It was extremely satisfying moment when I saw my UPSC IAS marksheet.. ..an outcome of years of patience, perseverance and planning.”
Immediately there were hundreds of aspirants reacting and raising queries, seeking his guidance. One of the users, Juanid, asked him about current affairs and polity study and the importance of NCERT books. Mr Gautam replied, “For current affairs read The Hindu and vision ias monthly magazine ncerts are foundational u can’t neglect them.”
Another user named Akash Choudhary asked why did you get such good marks, which he replied, “Make small goals, start slow and increase ur efforts daily, maintain discipline.. u will attain confidence 👍”
One user named Suraj asked him how he should start preparing. “Sir, I want to start preparation of UPSC CSE and how to start this journey, guide me sir!”
He replied, “Start with NCRTs and the Hindu Newspaper.”
