This will allow people of the state to call for police, fire and emergency, and ambulance services. The other emergency helpline numbers like 100 for police, 101 for fire brigade, 108 for ambulance and 1091 for women helpline, will continue to be functional for a while but will be discontinued soon and replaced by 112.
Currently, the Karnataka police is creating awareness about Dial 112 through various social media handles. The Bengaluru city police has also shared a video on how this can help people in saving lives in Situation of road rage or quarrelling, accident, feeling Unsafe, witnessing crime, theft.
