Ministry of Railways Bringing ‘Swatchhata’ on Railway Tracks

The ministry of railways posted a ‘before and after’ picture of clean railway tracks; received mixed reactions.
After the Prime Minister launched the ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ (SBM) on 2nd October, 2014, Indian Railways also launched ‘Swachh Rail, Swachh Bharat’ as part of this abhiyan. One of the most prominent reforms undertaken by the Indian Railways in the field of Swachhta and hygiene is the cleanliness of railway stations.
The Ministry of Railways’ Twitter account published “Before and After” images of a train station that can be seen completely strewn before and has turned into a tidy area, after, staying true to their goal of keeping the railroad tracks and platforms spotlessly clean.
The post is receiving mixed reactions from the public with some praising the work done and others posting pictures of untidy coaches, seats, and toilets, that require attention. The post has received over 2.1 million views, 2595 retweets, 188 quote tweets, and 33,400 likes.
