Noida Authority CEO Imposes Unique Punishment on Staff for Delayed Service to Elderly Visitor

During a routine CCTV review, Noida Authority CEO IAS Lokesh M noticed an elderly man waiting for assistance. After a 20-minute delay, he imposed a 20-minute standing punishment on 16 staff members for the delay.

In a surprising move that has garnered widespread attention, the CEO of Noida Authority, Dr. Lokesh M, an IAS officer of the 2005 batch, took a bold step to enforce discipline and improve public service efficiency. The incident, which has gone viral on social media, highlights Dr. Lokesh’s innovative approach to holding staff accountable for delays in providing timely services.

The incident unfolded during a routine monitoring session where Dr. Lokesh was reviewing the CCTV footage of the office. While monitoring, he noticed an elderly man waiting for an extended period at one of the service counters without any assistance. Concerned about the delay, Dr. Lokesh immediately instructed the on-duty staff to either resolve the issue for the elderly man or inform him if the service could not be provided. However, after 20 minutes, the man was still waiting, prompting the CEO to take immediate action.

In response to the delay, Dr. Lokesh personally visited the residential plot department to investigate the matter and ensure the issue was resolved. He then imposed an unusual disciplinary measure on 16 employees, including both male and female staff members. The staff were asked to stand at their desks for 20 minutes as a form of punishment for the delay in providing service. This action was part of Dr. Lokesh’s broader efforts to instill a sense of accountability and efficiency in the organization.

The incident was captured on video, which quickly went viral on social media. In the video, the employees are seen standing at their desks while continuing their work. The unusual punishment has sparked a wave of praise for Dr. Lokesh, with many people applauding his decisive approach to improving public service. Citizens have called it a necessary step to ensure government employees are held accountable for their duties.

Dr. Lokesh M, who has been working relentlessly to bring efficiency and accountability to the Noida Authority, has made efforts to enhance the working environment by implementing 65 CCTV cameras throughout the office. These cameras not only monitor staff performance but also track the experiences of visitors. Dr. Lokesh’s actions highlight his commitment to ensuring that services are delivered promptly, particularly to vulnerable groups such as the elderly.

By taking swift action in this instance, Dr. Lokesh demonstrated his dedication to fostering a culture of efficiency, accountability, and empathy in public offices.
