If you are cruel or you belong to that tribe of people who think cruelty is a sign of strength and dominance, and kindness and empathy are signs of weakness, then you are walking on the wrong path. Not just your views are skewed but you seem to have a distorted sense of what strength implies. This is what this video is all about.
Shared by IAS officer Faiz Aq Ahmad Mumtaz, who is known for his ‘Elder’s Club’ initiative in Jamtara, Jharkhand, the video shows a guest speaker addressing students on their convocation day in a university. He speaks on the topic of kindness being the biggest sign of strength and cruelty denoting weakness and lack of evolution.
Equating cruelty with the basic instinct of an animal, he says that the use of cruelty and force as weapons shows that people are yet to evolve into a greater state of being, and are still clinging to the primal instinct of considering something different as a threat, just like an animal do.
Indeed, to be able to remain kind in cruel situations needs a lot of courage. And, not everyone has it.
