New Delhi: Kashish Mittal, a former IAS officer of 2011 batch from AGMUT cadre, has won hearts across social media with his soulful rendition of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s iconic track Unke Andaz-e-Karam. The video, in which Mittal is seen singing casually on a sofa while his friends cheer him on, has amassed nearly 3 million views on Instagram.

He resigned from the IAS in 2019 after being transferred to Arunachal Pradesh. At that time, he was posted as Additional Principal Secretary to NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman Rajiv Kumar.

From Bureaucracy to Melody: A Career Shift That Inspires

An IIT Delhi graduate, Mr Mittal’s performance resonated deeply with netizens, who praised not only his singing talent but also his inspiring career journey. After clearing IIT with an All India Rank of 6 and serving as an IAS officer, Mittal’s passion for music shines through in this viral clip.

Sharing the video, Mittal captioned it with a poignant line from the song: “Woh bhi apne na hue, dil bhi gaya haathon se.” The video also features a text overlay that reads, “POV: When you are left with nothing after falling in love,” adding an emotional depth to his performance.
