A tigress in one of the many tiger reserves of Maharashtra is suddenly in news. The reason being a photograph of hers that has gone viral, in which, she is seen watching over her cubs cooling themselves in a waterbody.
What has caught the attention of wildlife enthusiasts is the number of cubs seen in the photo – 5 to 6, which is an unusually high number for a tigress to rear.
Senior IFS officer Ramesh Pandey wrote about this on X (formerly Twitter) asking whether X users can make make out the exact number of cubs in the photo. Some replied with ‘6’ while others wrote ‘5’. Which number will you go with?
