The second day of Gujarat’s 12th Chintan Shivir at Shrimad Rajchandra Ashram witnessed intensive group discussions led by Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Harsh Sanghavi, cabinet ministers, and senior bureaucrats. The three-day retreat, held in the tribal heartland of Dharampur, is aimed at fostering collective reflection to strengthen state-wide development strategies.
Capacity Building Focused on Future-Ready Workforce for 2035
During the morning sessions, ministers, secretaries, district collectors, and development officers deliberated on five core areas. In the capacity-building track, the discussions focused on restructuring cadres, continuous training frameworks, performance evaluation, and creating platforms for preparing a future-ready workforce. The initiative aims to equip Gujarat’s human capital for emerging technologies and the state’s developmental milestones leading up to 2035.
Public Health and Nutrition Strategies Target Vulnerable Communities
The public health and nutrition group reviewed Gujarat’s progress on maternal and infant mortality, anaemia, and child malnutrition, including wasting, underweight, and stunting. The deliberations highlighted the importance of stronger healthcare infrastructure, technology-driven interventions, and prioritising support for the most vulnerable communities to accelerate positive outcomes.
Green Energy and Climate Governance Drive Gujarat’s Sustainability Vision
Green energy and climate governance were key topics, aligned with national targets of 500 GW non-fossil fuel energy by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2070. Officials explored pathways for energy self-reliance, environmental resilience, circular economy initiatives, and increasing the use of green energy in public governance and state services.
Public Safety and Critical Infrastructure in Spotlight
Public safety discussions addressed critical infrastructure, including roads, bridges, public buildings, water supply, and drainage systems. Officials also reviewed fire safety, emergency response, traffic management, and the role of technology, transparency, and collective responsibility in safeguarding citizens.
Services Sector Deliberations Aim at Employment-Rich Growth
The services-sector group examined employment-rich segments such as IT and ITeS, Global Capability Centres, financial services, logistics, port-linked services, and emerging gig, care, and green economy opportunities. Current initiatives and future plans aim to position Gujarat as a leading services-driven economy.
Chintan Shivir Strengthens Gujarat’s Role in National Development Goals
Each session contributed to the state’s long-term roadmap, translating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047 into actionable strategies under Gujarat’s leadership. Senior officials noted that the day’s discussions have infused renewed momentum into Gujarat’s development mission.
