Gujarat is witnessing a major development in public safety infrastructure as the state’s first 12-storey high-rise model smart police station cum residency takes shape in Gandhinagar. The innovative project, estimated at over Rs. 20 crores, has received in-principle approval from the Home Department. Located on one acre of land near Dholakuva Metro Station, the facility is expected to be operational by Diwali 2026.

Integrated Police and Residential Facilities
The high-rise will feature parking on the ground floor, the Infocity Police Station across three floors, and eight floors of 2BHK flats for police families. Each residential floor will have four flats, designed with modern amenities including kitchens, living areas, master bedrooms with attached bathrooms, and vitrified flooring.
State-of-the-Art Police Infrastructure
The smart police station will host a Police Inspector’s office, FIR and case management rooms, computerization of documents, barracks for accused, CCTV surveillance, high-speed internet, digital kiosks, and a counseling room for women, children, and senior citizens. Clean visitor areas, drinking water, and women-only toilets will enhance service efficiency and comfort.
Solar-Powered and Sustainable Design
Sustainable features such as solar panels on the terrace will power the building. Additionally, dedicated space will be allocated for a garden and children’s play area, enhancing living standards for police families and promoting a healthy community environment.
Administrative Vision and Rapid Execution
District Police Chief Mr. Ravi Teja Vasam Shetty emphasized the project’s priority, stating that rapid construction will begin after tender completion. The building addresses long-standing infrastructure shortages at Infocity Police Station and will significantly strengthen law and order management in New Gandhinagar.
Building on Gujarat’s Smart Policing Legacy
Gujarat has pioneered smart police stations, with Kadodra Police Station in Surat being the first to integrate Wi-Fi, CCTV, computerized operations, and residential facilities for staff. The Infocity Police Station will take this model further, becoming the state’s first standalone high-rise combining modern policing and police housing under one roof.
