In a significant step toward building a modern, citizen-centric and globally competitive Uttar Pradesh, the Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Mr. Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday approved a far-reaching series of developmental, infrastructural and administrative reforms. Out of a combined set of proposals discussed across the two cabinet segments, 20 major decisions received approval, while two proposals—one linked to the Health Department and another related to the incentive policy for private hospitals—were deferred for re-examination in the next meeting.

The decisions highlight the government’s commitment to strengthening ease of living, improving administrative efficiency, promoting industrial growth, and accelerating infrastructure upgrades across the state.
Ayodhya to Get a World-Class Temple Museum
A highlight of the meeting was the approval for constructing a state-of-the-art temple museum in Ayodhya. This landmark museum aims to position the holy city as a world-class spiritual tourism destination. Additionally, the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Tourism Services Rules, 2025, were approved to further strengthen tourism governance and boost visitor amenities.
Advancing Social Welfare With District Disability Rehabilitation Centers
The Cabinet also passed the proposal to establish District Disability Rehabilitation Centers (DDRCs) at each divisional headquarters. This initiative is expected to significantly enhance rehabilitation services and empower persons with disabilities through improved access to assistive facilities and professional support.
Recognizing Sportspersons With Duty Status for Training and Competitions
In a major pro-athlete reform, the government approved amendments to the Direct Recruitment Rules for International Medal Winners, 2022. Under the new provisions, the time spent by athletes in training camps, national competitions and international tournaments will be treated as duty—promoting sporting excellence and institutional support for athletes.
Industrial Promotion Gains Momentum
To attract investments and strengthen the industrial ecosystem, the Cabinet approved SGST and stamp duty exemptions for industrialists. Under this reform, companies in Meerut, Shahjahanpur and Mathura received significant benefits. This includes a benefit worth Rs. 65.67 thousand to Messrs. Paswara Papers Limited of Meerut. One company each from Shahjahanpur and Mathura has also benefited under the industrial development proposal.
Additionally, free land will be provided for an international yoga and wellness center in Baghpat, to be developed under the PPP model—an initiative expected to boost wellness tourism and economic activity.

The meeting emphasized modernization of infrastructure, clean energy adoption and enhanced quality of life for citizens across Uttar Pradesh.

Major Connectivity Boost With Four-Lane Road in Chandauli
The Cabinet approved the widening of a 29.67 km road in Chandauli into a four-lane highway at a cost of Rs. 4.91 billion. This long-awaited project will connect the district to Ghazipur via Sakaldiha, Chahaniya and Saidpur—reducing travel time and improving regional logistics.
Revised Jail Rules Ensure Equality and Dignity
Amendments to the Uttar Pradesh Jail Manual ensure there will be no discrimination against inmates based on caste, reinforcing the government’s commitment to human rights and prison reforms.
Township Policy Overhaul to Revive Stalled Housing Projects
Inactive township projects sanctioned under the 2005 and 2014 policies will now be cancelled, with active ones expedited for completion. This step is expected to accelerate urban housing development and stimulate economic activities.
