Raipur: With the onset of the new year, Chhattisgarh is set to immerse itself once again in a celebration of literature and culture. The upcoming Raipur Literary Festival will be held from January 23 to 25, 2026, at Naya Raipur, bringing together over 100 distinguished authors and literary personalities from across India. The festival was envisioned by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on the occasion of the state’s Silver Jubilee, and this vision is now coming to fruition.

In a special ceremony at his residence office, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai unveiled the official logo of the Raipur Literary Festival. The event was attended by key dignitaries including the Chief Minister’s media advisor Mr. Pankaj Jha, President of Chhattisgarh Sahitya Akademi Mr. Shanshak Sharma, Secretary of the Public Relations Department Dr. Rohit Yadav, and senior literary figures such as Mr. Sushil Trivedi, Dr. Chitranjan Kar, Mr. Girish Pankaj, Dr. Sanjeev Bakshi, Mr. Pradeep Srivastava, and Ms. Shakuntala Tarar.

Chief Minister Highlights Festival’s Significance

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized that the Raipur Literary Festival is a pivotal chapter in the celebrations marking 25 years of Chhattisgarh’s formation. “This festival will not only provide Chhattisgarh but the entire country’s eminent literary personalities with a shared platform to exchange ideas, experiences, and creative insights,” he said.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the festival would enhance Chhattisgarh’s presence in the national literary arena and inspire citizens towards reading, writing, and literary engagement. He also highlighted that the event would serve as a platform for positive social discourse aligned with the state’s development initiatives.

Festival Structure and Schedule

The Raipur Literary Festival will be held from January 23 to 25, 2026, near the Tribal Museum in Naya Raipur. The three-day festival will feature a total of 11 sessions, including:

  • 5 Parallel Sessions for focused discussions and workshops.
  • 4 Collective Sessions for interactive dialogues with authors.
  • 3 Dialogue Sessions designed for direct engagement between participants and literary figures.

These sessions aim to foster a dynamic exchange of literary knowledge and creative practices among authors, scholars, and participants.

Festival Logo: A Symbol of Chhattisgarh’s Rich Cultural and Literary Heritage

The newly unveiled logo of the Raipur Literary Festival embodies Chhattisgarh’s rich cultural and literary legacy. It prominently features the Salfi tree, which is artistically shaped in the form of the Chhattisgarh state map. This symbolizes the deep roots of the state’s civilization, culture, and literary traditions nurtured over centuries.

The Salfi tree represents age-old folklore, communal harmony, and tribal traditions, highlighting the significance of tribal literature, indigenous knowledge, and local customs in contemporary literary discourse. The inscriptions on the logo, “Adi se Anadhi tak” (“From Beginning to Infinity”), signify the timeless journey of literature from ancient creations to continuously evolving modern works. Another phrase, “Sursari sam sabke hit hoi”, portrays literature as a liberating, inclusive, and socially beneficial force, guiding communities for collective welfare.

The festival logo is thus both a cultural and artistic representation of Chhattisgarh’s literary pride, showcasing the state’s enduring literary roots, tribal heritage, social harmony, and modern creative vision. It conveys to the public that Chhattisgarh’s literary journey is vibrant, timeless, and poised for continual growth.

About the Festival

The Raipur Literary Festival, organized under the vision of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, aims to create a national platform for literary exchange and cultural enrichment. By bringing together eminent authors and thinkers, the festival seeks to inspire new generations of readers and writers, strengthen the state’s cultural identity, and contribute to a robust literary ecosystem in Chhattisgarh.
