In a significant step toward building a modern, citizen-centric and globally competitive Uttar Pradesh, the Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Mr. Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday approved a far-reaching series of developmental, infrastructural and administrative reforms. Out of a combined set of proposals discussed across the two cabinet segments, 20 major decisions received approval, while two proposals—one linked to the Health Department and another related to the incentive policy for private hospitals—were deferred for re-examination in the next meeting.

The decisions highlight the government’s commitment to strengthening ease of living, improving administrative efficiency, promoting industrial growth, and accelerating infrastructure upgrades across the state.

Ayodhya to Get a World-Class Temple Museum

A highlight of the meeting was the approval for constructing a state-of-the-art temple museum in Ayodhya. This landmark museum aims to position the holy city as a world-class spiritual tourism destination. Additionally, the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Tourism Services Rules, 2025, were approved to further strengthen tourism governance and boost visitor amenities.

Advancing Social Welfare With District Disability Rehabilitation Centers

The Cabinet also passed the proposal to establish District Disability Rehabilitation Centers (DDRCs) at each divisional headquarters. This initiative is expected to significantly enhance rehabilitation services and empower persons with disabilities through improved access to assistive facilities and professional support.

Recognizing Sportspersons With Duty Status for Training and Competitions

In a major pro-athlete reform, the government approved amendments to the Direct Recruitment Rules for International Medal Winners, 2022. Under the new provisions, the time spent by athletes in training camps, national competitions and international tournaments will be treated as duty—promoting sporting excellence and institutional support for athletes.

Industrial Promotion Gains Momentum

To attract investments and strengthen the industrial ecosystem, the Cabinet approved SGST and stamp duty exemptions for industrialists. Under this reform, companies in Meerut, Shahjahanpur and Mathura received significant benefits. This includes a benefit worth Rs. 65.67 thousand to Messrs. Paswara Papers Limited of Meerut. One company each from Shahjahanpur and Mathura has also benefited under the industrial development proposal.

Additionally, free land will be provided for an international yoga and wellness center in Baghpat, to be developed under the PPP model—an initiative expected to boost wellness tourism and economic activity.
