Raipur: The Chhattisgarh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, approved five major decisions on September 9 aimed at strengthening employment, skill development, exports, employee opportunities and public infrastructure.
The decisions include a ₹500 crore Chief Minister Startup and NIPUN Mission, a ₹200 crore National Skill Training Institute in Nava Raipur, the Chhattisgarh Export Promotion Policy 2026-30, a seven-year relaxation in the age limit for certain government employees applying for other posts, and land for a new Durg District Court complex.
Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao announced the decisions after the Cabinet meeting, highlighting the government’s focus on turning young people from job seekers into job creators.
₹500 Crore Startup and NIPUN Mission
The Cabinet has approved the Chief Minister Startup and NIPUN Mission to promote entrepreneurship, employment and technology-driven skill development across the state.
The mission will receive a budget of ₹500 crore over five years. It will establish Entrepreneurship Development Centres in all 33 districts, along with 100 Emerging Technology Labs and five Industry Excellence Centres.
A NIPUN JOB Engine will also focus on training young people according to actual industry requirements and connecting them with formal employment opportunities.
The initiative is expected to create a stronger ecosystem for startups, innovation and industry-linked skills across Chhattisgarh.
Government Employees Get Age Limit Relaxation
In another major decision, the Cabinet increased the maximum age for certain serving employees applying for higher posts or other government services from 38 to 45 years.
The relaxation covers regular government employees, contractual workers, employees of corporations, boards and autonomous institutions, as well as Nagar Sainiks.
The seven-year increase will give eligible employees more opportunities to appear in recruitment examinations and apply for other government positions.
New Export Policy to Boost Global Trade
The Cabinet also approved the Chhattisgarh Export Promotion Policy 2026-30 to expand the state’s presence in international markets.
The policy focuses on promoting agricultural products, forest produce and industrial goods. It will also encourage e-commerce and participation in international trade fairs, helping local businesses reach global buyers.
The government plans to strengthen logistics infrastructure and create a more supportive environment for exporters. The move is aimed at positioning Chhattisgarh as a stronger export hub and creating new opportunities for local industries and entrepreneurs.
₹200 Crore NSTI Planned in Nava Raipur
A new National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) will come up in Tenduwa village of Nava Raipur Atal Nagar with support from the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
The institute will be developed on 10 acres at a cost of ₹200 crore and will provide advanced technical training to young people.
Once operational, the institute is planned to train around 1,000 youth in long-term courses and 3,000 youth in short-term courses every year.
The facility is expected to strengthen technical education and help young people acquire skills suited to changing industry requirements.
New District Court Complex for Durg
The Cabinet has also approved four hectares of government land near BIT College in Titurdiha village for a new modern building for the Durg District and Sessions Court.
Under the land arrangement, the Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) will receive government land of equivalent value in Pahanda village.
The new court complex is expected to strengthen judicial infrastructure in Durg and provide improved facilities for court-related work.
Focus on Jobs, Skills and Infrastructure
The five decisions collectively cover several areas of development, from youth entrepreneurship and technical training to exports, employee opportunities and judicial infrastructure.
The startup mission and new NSTI place particular emphasis on employment and skills, while the export policy seeks to connect Chhattisgarh’s local products and businesses with international markets.
Together, these measures underline the state government’s focus on job creation, skill development, entrepreneurship, industrial growth and stronger public infrastructure.
