CGPSC State Service Exam 2024 Results Declared: Merit List Reflects Strong Performance; Devesh Kumar Sahu Leads with 773 Marks

The Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) in Raipur has officially released the results of the State Service Examination-2024, marking a significant milestone for aspirants seeking roles in the state’s administrative and development-oriented departments. This year’s merit list showcases exceptional performances, with boys securing most of the top positions while two girls also marked their place among the top ten.

Top Performers Lead with Remarkable Scores

The top ten merit holders are as follows:

  • Mr. Devesh Kumar Sahu – 773 marks (Rank 1)
  • Mr. Swapnil Verma – 769.5 marks
  • Mr. Yashwant Kumar Dewangan – 769 marks
  • Mr. Poleshwar Sahu – 767 marks
  • Mr. Paras Sharma – 758 marks
  • Ms. Shatakshi Pandey – 756.5 marks
  • Mr. Ankush Banerjee – 756 marks
  • Ms. Srishti Gupta – 755.5 marks
  • Mr. Prashant Verma – 755.5 marks
  • Mr. Sagar Verma – 745.5 marks

A total of 246 vacancies across 17 state services will be filled through this recruitment cycle.

Comprehensive Examination and Selection Process

The written examination, held from June 26 to June 29, resulted in 3737 candidates qualifying for the interview stage. Interviews were conducted between November 10 and November 20. After successfully completing the interview process, the Commission released the consolidated merit list late Thursday night, maintaining transparency and procedural efficiency.

The recruitment drive includes appointments to major posts contributing to Chhattisgarh’s administrative framework and development initiatives, such as:

  • Deputy Superintendent of Police
  • Chhattisgarh State Finance Service Officer
  • District Excise Officer
  • Assistant Director (Finance Department)
  • Assistant Director (Panchayat and Rural Development Department)
  • Assistant Director / District Women and Child Development Officer
  • Assistant Director (Social Welfare Department)
  • Chief Executive Officer Janpad Panchayat
  • Child Development Project Officer
  • Chhattisgarh Subordinate Accounts Service Officer
  • Naib Tehsildar
  • State Tax Inspector
  • Excise Sub-Inspector
  • Sub-Registrar
  • Cooperative Inspector / Cooperative Extension Officer
  • Assistant Jail Superintendent

Final Selection List Awaited After Post Allocation

CGPSC clarified that the released list is a merit list based solely on marks obtained in the mains and interview stages. Post allocation will now follow, based on candidates’ preferences and merit positions. A separate final selection list will be published upon completion of the allocation process.
