According to the association’s rules, elections take place every three years, usually based on consensus and coordination among members. This year, the executive committee played a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and dispute-free election process, ultimately reaching a unanimous decision for the president’s post.

List of Elected Members

Other IAS officers elected to key positions include Vivek Porwal, Anubha Srivastava, Nishant Barbade, Sanjeev Singh, Sudam Khade, Ilaiya Raja T, and Kaushalendra Vikram Singh, Girish Sharma, Chandramouli Shukla, and Preeti Maithil Nayak.

End of Previous President’s Tenure

Before Srivastava, the association was led by IAS officer Mohammad Suleman, whose term ended on December 31, 2024. A 1989-batch officer, Suleman had taken over as president in 2022. Before him, the position was held by 1988-batch IAS officer ICP Keshari.

The role of the IAS Association president holds significant administrative importance. The newly elected president, Manu Srivastava, is a 1991-batch IAS officer with a strong academic background, having completed both his B.Tech and M.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi.

Unanimous Election Process

As in previous years, this election was based on consensus. The tradition of selecting the president unanimously has continued since 2007-08, when the executive committee backed Rakesh Sahni over another contender, Sandeep Khanna. This time as well, the executive committee’s proposed candidate was approved without contest.
