In a significant reshuffle, the Punjab government transferred five Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, with key changes in senior positions across the state.
2014 batch IPS officer Gaurav Toora has been appointed as the new Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Kapurthala, replacing the outgoing officer. In addition, Harcharan Singh Bhullar, also an IPS officer of 2014 batch, has been transferred to the post of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Ropar Range, while Harjeet Singh will take over as the DIG of Bathinda Range.
The reshuffle also saw Jagdale Nilambari Vijay being assigned the role of DIG, Technical Services, Punjab, in addition to being the DIG of the Community Affairs Division. Meanwhile, Vatsala Gupta has been appointed as the Commandant of the 27th Battalion of the Punjab Armed Police (PAP) in Jalandhar.
The transfers come as part of the Punjab government’s ongoing efforts to ensure better governance and police administration across the state.
