The state government has transferred 10 IAS and 9 IPS officers in the state. Among which, Lakhimpur Kheri’s District Magistrate Arvind Kumar Chaurasiya has also been transferred. He was replaced by erstwhile DM of Mainpuri, Mahendra Bahadur Singh.
The transfer came after the incident took place at Lakhimpur Kheri on October 3. The DM was blamed for not handling the case in a required manner and for delaying action following deaths.
According to an official statement-
- Mahendra Bahadur Singh was made the new DM of Lakhimpur Kheri while Avinash Krishna Singh was posted as the new DM of Mainpuri.
- Additional Director of State Urban Development Agency (SUDA), Alok Singh, was made the new DM of Lalitpur
- Dr Chandrabhushan Tripathi was posted as the new DM of Hamirpur.
- IAS Arun Kumar was appointed is the new DM of Mau
- IAS Sheshmani Pandey is the new DM of Amethi.
- IAS Suraj Patel was posted as joint magistrate of Meerut
- IAS Anuraj Jain is posted as a joint magistrate of Kanpur
The IPS officers who are shifted on Thursday include-
- SP of Kanpur (Outer) Ashtabhuja Prasad Singh who was attached with the DGP headquarters in Lucknow and SP Regional Intelligence in Prayagraj
- Ajit Kumar Sinha was made the new SP of Kanpur Outer. SP (Crime) in Aligarh,
- Rajesh Kumar Srivastava, was shifted as Commandant of 41the Battalion PAC in Ghaziabad, SP (Rural) in Jaunpur,
- Tribhuvan Singh, was made Commandant of 30the Battalion PAC in Gonda,
- Shashikant was posted as SP, Public Grievances Cell, at DGP headquarters
- SP (Traffic) in Gorakhpur, Ram Sewak Gautam, was made the deputy commissioner of police at Kanpur police commissionerate.
- SP Barabanki (North) Awadesh Singh was made the new SP Railway, Gorakhpur,
- SP (City) in Azamgarh, Pankaj Kumar Pandey, was transferred as SP to DGP headquarters in Lucknow
- SP (East) in Pratapgarh, Shri Prakash Dwivedi, was shifted as SP of UP Power Corporation Limited.
The state government has reshuffled at least 21 IPS officers in the past two days and more transfers are expected before the model code of conduct comes into force for the upcoming assembly polls.
The state government on Tuesday had transferred 12 IPS officers, including IGs of Kanpur and Agra Ranges.
