Senior diplomats Jaideep Mazumdar, an Indian Foreign Service Officer (IFS) of 1989 batch and Mr Pavan Kapoor, an IFS officer 1990 batch, have been made as Secretary (East) and Secretary (West) respectively in the Ministry of External Affairs.
Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on 3rd of February, has issued order regarding this.
Mr Mazumdar is currently serving as the Ambassador at the Embassy of India in Vienna and will be succeeding Saurabh Kumar (IFS:1989).
While Pavan Kapoor, the current Ambassador of India in Moscow, will be succeeding Sanjay Verma (IFS 1990).
Mr Verma has been appointed as a member of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
