Karnataka: IPS Officer Abdul Ahad Transferred to BMTC as Director, Security and Vigilance

IPS officer Abdul Ahad, who has been serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in the Bengaluru City Crime Branch (CCB), has now been reassigned as the Director of Security and Vigilance for the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC).

A native of Moodbidri in Mangaluru, Mr. Ahad previously held the position of Superintendent of Police (SP) with the Coastal Security Police. In September of the previous year, he was appointed as DCP of the CCB.

Mr. Abdul Ahad, a 2012-batch IPS officer, has an extensive service record, having held several prominent roles. These include the DCP of Bengaluru’s Whitefield division, the SP of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Bengaluru, the SP of the Economic Offences Wing at CID, and the Commandant at Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP).
