IRS Anurag Chandra Made DS in Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals

The appointment follows a recommendation for Central deputation by the Department of Revenue

Anurag Chandra, a 2014-batch IRS officer, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals.

The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) announced on Friday that Chandra’s selection was made under the Central Staffing Scheme (CSS) and his term will span four years from the date he assumes the position, or until further directives are issued, whichever occurs first.

The appointment follows a recommendation for Central deputation by the Department of Revenue. The DoPT order also specified that Chandra should be immediately relieved from his current responsibilities to commence his new duties in the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals.
