Over two dozen Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Indirect Taxes) officers have been empanelled for promotion to the grade of Chief Commissioner/Director General of Customs & Indirect Taxes (Level 16 of the Pay Matrix) for the panel years 2024. The extended panel would be operated in lieu of officers included in the main panel who are retiring on superannuation during the year 2025.
It may be underlined that the recommendations of the DPC in respect of Mr. Ganesh Hanavur and Mr. Sanjay Mahendru have been placed in ‘sealed cover’, for the panel year 2025 and in lieu thereof, the promotion of the 02 junior-most officers in the panel for the year 2025 would be on ‘ad-hoc’ basis till the pending ‘sealed cover’ cases are finalized.
