In a major restructuring of the Delhi Police, 36 IPS officers and five officers from the Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Police Service (DANIPS) were reassigned to new positions on Tuesday.
Among the notable changes, Nabam Gunte, a 2003 batch IPS officer, has transitioned from Joint Commissioner of Police (Armed Police) to Joint CP of the Special Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC) and the Special Police Unit for the North-Eastern Region (SPUNER).
The reshuffle also saw Veenu Bansal and Mahender Tiwari, both from the 2004 batch, taking on the roles of Joint CP (Security) and Joint CP (Armed Police), respectively. Additionally, Suman Goyal, a 2005 batch officer, has moved from Joint CP (Rashtrapati Bhawan) to Joint CP (Headquarters).
At the district level, Rakesh Paweriya, a 2012 batch IPS officer, will now serve as DCP (Crime Branch), while Amit Goyal, from the 2014 batch and previously DCP (Crime Branch), has been appointed as DCP of Rohini district.
Leadership changes have also occurred across various districts, with new appointments for 2012 batch IPS officers Nidhin Valsan (Outer North), Sachin Sharma (Outer), Raja Banthia (North), Abhishek Dhania (North-West), Ravi Kumar Singh (South-East), Surendra Choudhary (South-West), and Prashant Gautam (Shahdara).
Furthermore, Guriqbal Singh, also a 2012 batch IPS officer, has been reassigned from DCP (Rohini) to DCP (Economic Offences Wing). Bhisham Singh (2012 batch) and Vikram Singh (2014 batch) have been transferred to the DCP (Crime Branch) position.
