Eco Warrior Awards 2025 Today: Celebrating India’s Green Guardians

The Eco Warrior Awards 2025 is being held today at the India International Centre, New Delhi. The event honours Indian Forest Service officers for excellence in forest conservation, wildlife protection, innovation, and community initiatives.
Indian Masterminds Stories

Across the length and breadth of India, far from the spotlight, a band of officers works tirelessly to keep our forests alive and our air breathable. They are the Indian Forest Service officers, our green warriors. Their battle is fought not in conference halls but in the deep silence of jungles and along the edges of rivers, where they stand guard against deforestation, poaching, and the many challenges of climate change. Often, they work without the weapons, resources, or administrative support that their challenges demand. Yet, they persevere, silently shaping the future of our country.

It was to bring these unsung heroes into the light, to celebrate their courage, innovation, and commitment, that Indian Masterminds, in association with the IFS Association, launched the Eco Warrior Awards in 2023.

WHAT THE AWARDS REPRESENT

The Eco Warrior Awards honour extraordinary contributions in the fields of forest and wildlife conservation, protection, community engagement, innovation, and technology. Over the past three years, the initiative has become a landmark celebration, recognising not just individuals but also groundbreaking projects that prove conservation can be visionary, inclusive, and impactful.

This year, the awards will be presented in seven prestigious categories:

  • Forest Conservation
  • Wildlife Conservation
  • Wildlife Protection
  • Lifetime Achievement
  • Communities Connect
  • Best Use of Technology
  • Innovative Initiatives

Each category tells its own story of officers fighting timber mafias, of communities uniting with forests, of cutting-edge technology being woven into conservation, and of lifelong dedication to preserving the planet.

MORE THAN AN AWARD NIGHT

The Eco Warrior Awards are not just about trophies; they are about conversations and collective vision. That is why the evening also brings together the Eco Warrior Conclave, now in its third edition.

This year’s conclave features two thought-provoking panels:

  • Eco-Tourism For The Future – exploring how responsible tourism can protect habitats and empower local communities.
  • Awakening Environmental Consciousness – bringing together changemakers to discuss how awareness can lead to real, collective action.

With voices from the forest service, conservation organisations, and civil society, these panels promise to set the tone for meaningful change.

DISTINGUISHED PRESENCE

Adding grace to the evening is the Union Cabinet Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Shri Bhupender Yadav, as the Chief Guest. The event also sees the presence of stalwarts from the Indian Forest Service, eminent jury members who carefully evaluated nominations, and leading figures from the world of conservation.

A NIGHT TO REMEMBER

As the lights dim and the awards begin, what awaits is not just the recognition of individuals but the celebration of an entire community that keeps India green. The Eco Warrior Awards 2025 are a reminder that the stories born in our forests deserve to be heard, shared, and applauded.
