Mr. Vaid began his career with a posting as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Badgaon, a region fraught with challenges. His exceptional performance led to his promotion as Superintendent of Police (SP) in the same area, where he undertook numerous operations against militants. His relentless efforts and courage in the face of danger earned him the prestigious President’s Police Medal for Gallantry, highlighting his bravery and commitment to duty.

One of his significant contributions was being in charge of the first Anti-Terror Task Force, a crucial role that underscored his strategic acumen in combating terrorism. As Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Jammu, Mr. Vaid spearheaded a police-community partnership initiative, emphasizing the importance of strong police-public relations.
